Scroll Down

We understand the importance of a great proposition, especially in today’s ultra-competitive market.

Through experience, we know the best propositions are those that are always aligned with customer needs, evolving as and when the industry or customer attitudes change.

That’s why we have established a clear set of design principles when helping our clients build and deliver genuine breakthrough propositions. These cover:

Customer benefits
Ensuring customers can identify and relate to the value your products offer
Basis for differentiation
Making sure your offer is distinguishable from your competitors, ensuring the proposition is a game-changer and has market-wide appeal
Mechanisms for delivering value
A proposition cannot be truly brilliant unless it generates real business value, is operationally deliverable and is supported internally with business resource

Development lifecycle

With proven expertise and credentials, we work with our clients throughout of the development lifecycle, implementing structured checkpoints at each stage to ensure success.

Proposition development lifecycle

Proposition development lifecycle

Stage 1: Understanding

Consumer and market research – meaningful insight into the needs and requirements of the target audience, the concept’s value opportunity and competitor activity

Concept definition – target outcomes and success criteria, potential solutions, prioritisation and selection

Stage 2: Definition and design

Proposition definition – developing and agreeing the high-level proposition rules and requirements

Pricing and incentives – developing customer value offer, identifying price point options and the mix between core pricing, incentive and usage offers

Stage 3: Customer marketing

Acquisition, on-boarding and CRM – ensuring the acquisition offer attracts customers and also sets up the desired customer behaviour – i.e. delivers the business benefits

Stage 4: Test, learn and refine

Test and learn scenarios – a new proposition needs to be tested in a live environment. We bring the insights expertly and quickly back to the proposition to ensure the final proposition is optimal

Recent successful projects

A new digital bank needed help developing a range of services and products to work seamlessly with their highly differentiated user experience. Over a period of five months our team developed the detailed product propositions for mortgages, savings, personal loans, cards and current accounts (both for personal and business customers). The final propositions were presented to and agreed with the executive team and are now in various stages of implementation and delivery.

A leading UK bank was experiencing very low levels of debit card penetration in its customer base. Also, usage levels of business debit cards were underperforming against KPI targets. Working closely with the client, we redesigned their card proposition and successfully tested it using market research. We then developed a ‘test and learn’ pilot, working closely with the branches and business banking managers to ensure the new proposition worked and was feasible in a ‘live environment’. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in card sales, usage and customer engagement levels. The new proposition is now being implemented nationwide.
