Past Experience: Andrew has over 24 years experience in financial services marketing, product development and business management. For five years he worked at Barclays as UK Retail Product Director, where he delivered the strategy and managed the commercial performance of all retail banking products sold through all distribution channels and brands.
He also spent six years at Egg where he was a member of the founding launch team. His roles included Head of Savings; Head of New Product Development & Innovation; and Managing Director, Egg Money Services & Investments.
Andrew served his apprenticeship at Midland and then HSBC, where he worked for over 12 years in various senior management, project and marketing roles across the branch network, Group H/O and Product Marketing. This has allowed Andrew to build a deep experience in banking operations, service quality, savings and current accounts.
Personal Mantra: “Don’t go to bed on an argument” (which probably explains why I never go to bed). In all seriousness though, it is “Never give up on a challenge; it’s up to you to make stuff happen.
Name: Brian Cunnington
Job Title: Director
Past Experience: For over 11 years, Brian was Head of Debit Cards, Travel Services and Retail Payments at Barclays Bank. This included all aspects of product strategy and proposition, P&L performance and planning, service level achievement and operational performance.
During his time in charge he delivered a number of landmark achievements, including the successful implementation of Chip & PIN, the first UK debit contactless rollout and the successful migration of three million Woolwich debit cardholders on to Barclays’ card platforms.
Brian was Chair of the UK Cheque Guarantee Committee for five years and represented the bank on a number of other industry boards/steering groups. He led negotiations with the EU Competition Commission securing agreement for the first and only global ATM alliance. Representing Barclays’ and Visa, Brian has delivered many presentations, run workshops and led discussion groups across the globe on debit cards. He is a faculty member for the Visa Bank Card Business School and has delivered many successful training sessions across Europe on card profitability and management.

Name: Tony Vail
Title: Managing Consultant
Past Experience: Tony has over 23 years experience in strategy development, commercial evaluation, marketing and corporate finance, and has a passion for delivering transformational customer propositions.
His previous roles included Marketing Actuary at the Prudential, Head of Commercial Development at Egg and Head of Strategy & Proposition at Egg Investments. Tony was part of the founding team of Zopa, the world’s first person to person lending exchange. As a consultant, he has advised Virgin Money, Citibank and Barclays on a range of market launches, new business and investment models, turnaround growth strategies and retail banking product launches.
